Prominent Hill - Village 11kV Distribution Line

Cowell Electric successfully tendered for and won the installation of 3.5kms of 11kV Distribution Line. The project was located at Oxiana’s Prominent Hill mine located 90km’s south of Coober Pedy in the far north of South Australia.
The project consisted of the design and construction of the distribution line from the main plant at the mine to the accommodation village picking up a number of sites along the way including the company’s core store and telecommunications sites.
The design of the line was developed around the use of Cowell Electrics own A Frame pole which were manufactured in our yard at Cowell. The use of this type of pole enabled us to deliver the project to meet the clients schedule.
